At Elmsett School we have an Eco Council which is made up of pupils from all year groups, as well as Mrs Shackleton and Mrs Robinson.  This year's council is made up of Amy C, Paul, Harrison, Sarah S, Hollie G, Max, Ranulf and Catherine.

Paper, cans, bottles, glass, CDs and clothes are recycled through the community recycling centre.  The money raised provides extra resources for the school.   In February 2002 in recognition of the schools work the school was awarded an Eco Flag.

We have a green bin for composting all fruit and vegetable skins, cores, etc that are eaten at morning break. In the wildlife area we have a wormery and bird feeders.  We also have a pond in the wildlife area which sometimes gets ducks in it.  We get together once a week to discuss what needs to be done.  This could be the collecting of the leaves from the playground (which will then be composted), drawing up rotas to fill the bird feeders in the wildlife area or filling the compost bins.
