Early Years Unit

The Early Years Unit is run between Elmsett Playgroup and Elmsett School, which means that the term after which a child is 4 years old, they will go to both the playgroup and the school.  This gives the child a happy and easy introduction into school life.

Natalie Highland and her team run sessions on a Monday and Tuesday morning at the Village Hall.  Then on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning the child  joins Otters class in the school.  Debbie Seabrook from the Early Years Unit joins Mrs Kearn, Mrs Irwin and Mrs Shackleton, helps the child to settle into the new school environment.  It is a great opportunity for the child to meet the older children in Reception and Year 1 and join in the class and school activities.

A weekly afternoon visit to Otters Class is introduced the last half term before the child is 5 years old.  Additionally, the child will be invitied to stay a whole day in school and have a school dinner.
