This term Mrs Davies has been reading The Iron Man by Ted Hughes to the children. Following on from the story the children had to write an account of what they thought the Iron Man's idea of heaven would be. Here are a few:

Hogarth took me to heaven! When I looked around the scrap yard I couldn't believe my eyes. I went ot the huge piles of crunch cars. I picked one up and put it straight in my mouth. I swallowed it down in one! It was delicious. For my starters I had rusty chains. They were scrumptious. For my main meal I had an oily old train. I couln't resist another one. They wre so lovely. I picked up the biggest one and swallowed it up!

Hogarth took me to heaven! When I looked around the scrap yard I couldn't believe my eyes. When I saw the rusty cars, excitement went throuhg my head like grease lightening. When I looked around I gulped. I saw a metal bedsted. I ate and ated until I saw a greasy stove. I licked and licked and then....gulp. I ate a metal chain. I ate it like spaghetti, my head tipped back, I dangled it down my throat. Now I was beginning to feel full, but I could not finish. I had to have a couple of rsty pans and not forgetting the springs and the oil on it. The oil on the spring was a moment not to forget. At last I was full, so I went to sleep and had a dream about scrap metal!

Hogarth took me to heaven! When I looked around the scrap yard I couldn't believe my eyes. There was a glorious bundle of metal food. For my delicious starter, I had ten oily bikes. Next, for my scrumdidlyumptious main course, I had five chewy trucks. Finally, for my fabulous desert, I had twenty-five greasy sotves. Soon I went to sleep with 5 rusty cars for a pillow and sixty metal gates for the covers.
