14 Nov 2007 - Visit to Arras
On the Wednesday 14 November, Mrs Hooper joined a group educators from Suffolk, on a trip to Arras in Northern France. The aim was to set up a partner school for each educator which would support the development of primary French and bring about cultural awareness.

On Thursday the group finally met their French counterparts and partnerships were formed. Mrs Hooper made a link with Ecole Condercet, which is in Liévin, a few miles away from Arras. Madamoiselle Debit is the teacher of Class CE2, which has 19 pupils aged 8 to 9 years, so the equivalent of Elmsett's Year 4.
On Mrs Hoopers last day, she was invited to spend the morning with Madamoiselle Debit at the school. She was shown around and introduced to the children and other members of staff. The children were keen to show off their knowledge of English and were all very excited at the prospect of having English penpals.
The children from Badgers class sent letters of themselves and a class Christmas card to France. They had great pleasure in receiving Christmas greeting from their French counterparts.
