14 Jul 2008 - French Activity Afternoon
Along with Hintlesham Primary School, Year 5 and 6 were invited to Beaumont to take part in some French games as part of their Bastille Day celebrations.
The children were split into groups, each one representing a French football team. They played petanque (as seen in the picture), commonly known as boules. They also played parachute games using French colours, numbers and parts of the body. A French version of 'What's the time Mr Wolf' which is known as '1,2,3 Soleil' and 'Jacques a dit' or Simon says. Even though there was not much speaking of French by the children, there was alot of listening and understanding. They realised they knew much more than they thought.
Thank you to Beaumont for a fun way to enjoy Bastille Day.
