Welcome to our school

Welcome to the Elmsett School website where you will get a glimpse of our happy

and exciting village school.

We are a small school with only 4 classes, but with big ambitions and achievements.

Being a rural school that serves both the local community and surrounding villages,

we draw upon our beautiful environment and try to utilise all the resources available

to extend and enrich learning. We have a school allotment frequented by the

children to learn how to grow, nurture, harvest (and finally cook) vegetables.

Buckles Wood is on our doorstep for outdoor learning and creating wonderful

things such as a Minibeast Hotel.

We also have international connections and are twinned with a school in New Jeshwang,

Gambia. The children correspond frequently via letters and powerpoint presentations,

sharing their experiences and learning about the differences between the cultures.

We are proud to be an Eco-School and the pupils are actively involved in recycling

and other activities both independently and through their own Eco-Council to create

a sustainable environment.

We aim to provide a caring, family atmosphere where pupils (age 4 to 11) can learn to

grow and work independently with confidence, interest, enthusiasm and self-discipline,

whilst maintaining an awareness of and respect for others. We welcome parents into school

to help with reading and cooking, or to share experiences that may be valuable

to the children. Please contact us if you would like to be involved.

Please have a look round the website where you see more of what Elmsett School

has to offer.
